Final National Ranking before Nationals: Women #2, Men #16

The Villanova women stayed put in the #2 spot, but received no first place votes, after tying with Georgetown last weekend to share the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional title. The men focused on beating Princeton at the Regional, and did so, but Georgetown's men -- who Villanova beat decisively at the Big East conference meet -- ran a masterful race and won the regional title. It should be noted, however, that Keith Capecci (running as VU's #2 all season) was held out at the Regional, raising Villanova's score somewhat. That fact notwithstanding, Marcus's squad dropped from 13th to 16th nationally.
